Inspiring our children to lifelong Jewish learning and living
The Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah
Academy continually strives to actively engage and inspire our students through
a quality egalitarian Conservative Jewish educational experience, open to both
tradition and innovation.
In an environment filled with ruach (spirit), our children are infused
with a love of being Jewish, secure in their Jewish identity at home, in the
synagogue, and in society. Our curriculum focuses on skills for synagogue and
home life, Hebrew language, Bible and Jewish history, and the challenges, joys,
and responsibilities of living as a Jew today.
An overview of the curriculum for each Academy class is available online: Curriculum Overview (PDF). Each teacher has written a summary of the goals and activities for that year of Hebrew study.
Academy Divisions
Our Primary Division, grades K-2, welcomes our younger students and introduces them to the wonderful world of Jewish learning and Jewish living. Great effort is made to welcome them to the school and the synagogue, and we strive to create a sense of comfort and identity with both.
BHCBE welcomes non-members to enroll their children in the Primary Division.
Our Hebrew Division, grades 3-7, offers a comprehensive, 3 day-a-week program of studies in the areas of Hebrew, Bible, and Jewish Life.
Our Hebrew High School includes courses dealing with both
contemporary and traditional subject matter. Our 1Oth grade Confirmation
students spend a year of study with Rabbi Kensky or Rabbi Mishkin. Our Post-Confirmation
Seminar focuses on areas of concern and interest to high school juniors
and seniors.
